		<description>I take issue with your &quot;which ACE is used&quot; comment in comparing PEACE to HOPE, the preponderance of evidence would suggest that ACE inhibition has no benefit beyond blood pressure control (ALLHAT, CAMELOT, PEACE,).  What that comment serves to do is muddy the waters between ACE inhibitors, not clarify them.</description>

Prior to these 2 studies, many cardiologists often felt it appropriate to add an ACE inhibitor to all patients with atherosclerotic vascular disease.  If BP and Lipids are at good level, these studies suggest that may not be helpful.  And if BP is high normal, amlodipine might be a better option.</description>
